On an YTD basis TASI lost 972.5 points (8.81%). Highest close level for the index during the month was 10,089.52 as on 29/04/2008. Total equity market capitalization at the end of April 2008 reached SR 1.86 trillion (US$ 496.55 billion), increasing by 11.19% over the previous month. The total value of shares traded for the month of April 2008 reached SR 201.65 billion (US$ 53.77 billion), increasing by 26.85% over the previous month. The total number of shares traded reached 5.40 billion shares for the month of April 2008 compared to 4.28 billion shares traded during the previous month, increasing by 26.20%.
