On an YTD basis TASI lost 1,686.34 points (15.28%). Highest close level for the index during the period was 11,697.01 points as on 12/01/2008. Total equity market capitalization at the end of 1st half 2008 reached SR 1.77 trillion (US$ 473.21 billion), increasing by 59.49% over the end of the 1st half of the previous year (2007). The total value of shares traded for the 1st half 2008 reached SR 1,286.87 billion (US$ 343.17 billion), decreasing by 13.54% over the same period of the previous year (2007). The total number of shares traded reached 33.48 billion shares for the 1st half 2008 compared to 34.83 billion shares traded during the 1st half 0f the previous year (2007), decreasing by 3.88%.
